Thank you Unique Loom for sponsoring this post!
There’s always that weird transition between Christmas and Spring. You can’t really start busting out the spring decor when there’s snow outside especially for us Iowa folks! It still snows through February. What I like to do during this time is to have winter decor throughout the house. That’s what I did a few years ago, and I loved how the house felt so cozy. As you can see from those pictures, I went with a winter wonderland feel. 😉
For that Christmas, I went all out with the holiday decor. It had a lot to do with it being the last Christmas at the new house. I spent so much time decorating for the holidays that I didn’t want to completely take down everything. The first thing I did was put away all the red decor and any decor that screamed Christmas. Then I took down the main Christmas trees. For the trees we kept up, I made sure to keep it plain and undecorated.
If you are in that confused decor stage after Christmas, just keep the green decor out and call it good until spring! 😉 Here’s Cecilia’s house with winter decor. Her style is minimalistic with simple colors, so her transition from Christmas to winter was pretty easy!
I got this Unique Loom rug for the new house, but I wanted to show you that this rug can be used for my classic coastal farmhouse style and also for Cecilia’s modern minimalist style.
This is a great neutral rug that can be used in any room…it comes in various sizes and colors. I have my eye on the gray one too!
You know how I love traditional style rugs! Check out these rugs below:
How do you decorate during the winter season after Christmas? Let me know in the comments!
