New Dining Room Rug and Chairs

I had shared recently that I finally got new dining room furniture at the rental. Good-bye folding table! Not going to miss you. 😉 Looking at this area felt good…it made me smile. Finally, something in the rental where it looked put together and decorated! I did grab an old outdoor rug from the basement storage and set it under the table, and although the space looked finished with it, the rug wasn’t really my style anymore. I knew I wanted to update a few things in this space like a new dining room rug and chairs, so I headed to At Home to check out their Rug and Furniture Event that’s going on right now. If you followed my Instagram stories of me shopping for Johannah’s bedroom, you’ll remember that I saw a jute striped rug at At Home that I had my eye on. I decided to go with that rug for the dining room. It’s perfect in this space!

To add more texture and color at each end of the dining table, I decided to update the end chairs instead of having white metal chairs. I used to have wicker chairs in my old house and I love that look, so I went straight to the patio wicker section of At Home. These patio wicker chairs come in different colors, and I decided to go with this caramel color. It went with the jute rug perfectly!

I love using trays as part of my decor, and here I used this wooden tray as part of my centerpiece. This tray actually comes in 3 different sizes. The one I got is the medium size.
