Thank you Better Homes and Gardens at Walmart for sponsoring this post!
Cecilia, my twin sister, moved into her home two years ago. If you’ve built before, you know that there’s always a list of ongoing projects that you want to accomplish after moving into the home you just built. Usually, these are lists to make your new house feel like home. One of the “projects” they wanted to work on this spring and summer was their outdoor space on their deck. They already had an outdoor dining set on the deck, so she wanted something in the corner where she could relax and have some alone time. They live out in the country with a beautiful view, so this would be perfect! Cecilia is lucky that she has a twin sister that can help her create an outdoor zen space! 😉
I texted her some patio furniture pieces as options for this space, and she had a hard time picking which one she wanted. Here’s the list of products I sent her:
She decided to go with the outdoor egg chair, and I secretly wanted her to pick that one too! 😉 Yes, we’re thinking about her for this space, but I can also see the kids loving this chair too.
Once we decided on a chair, I sent her a list of stools or poufs to choose from. This is great to set your drink, book, or in her case a laptop if she decides to work out there. She decided to go with the blue and white woven pouf.
The rest of the stuff, I didn’t give her an option. HA! I know her style though, so I knew exactly what to pick while I was at Walmart in the outdoor living section. I knew a pillow was needed for the egg chair. It makes the space cozier and adds some color to the cream cushion.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I love adding lanterns to any space. I like using that as decor, but of course, you can use it for lighting when it starts getting dark outside. I have a huge collection of lanterns. When we moved out of our old home, I had boxes and boxes of lanterns. Nick thinks I’m ridiculous! 😉 I liked the white ceramic lantern and the wood rope lantern because it already had a built-in candle in there.
You want to enjoy the outdoors in this space, but it’s not very enjoyable if you have bugs surrounding you. I added this small citronella candle which acts as pretty decor too.
They had so many pretty planters at the store, and I knew Cecilia is a huge fan of the footed planter stand, but I went with the concrete planter instead.
What do you think of her outdoor zen space? This space can be perfect to get away from the kids if she wants her alone time. She also works from home, so she can take her laptop out there with her cup of coffee and enjoy the weather and the view. Another option is to just take a nap out there because I would! 😉
