Thank you Walmart for sponsoring this post!
This is my favorite time of year to decorate. I literally go aaallll out! Even my husband said that while living in the last house, he thought our storage was big until I started decorating for my job. Christmas trees and holiday decor has taken over our storage. š It’s different this year though. There’s not a whole lot of holiday decorating in the rental. Some might even think that I’m the grinch. HA! One, I don’t know where half our Christmas decor is at, and it’s going to take a while to find it. I see some random Christmas bins in the basement storage, but some are either in the wall of boxes in the garage or in our storage garage. Second, Christmas decorating takes a lot of time. I’m already overwhelmed with house building stuff, so I would be spreading myself too thin if I added holiday decorating on my plate. I enjoy seeing how my home decor friends on Instagram are decorating! Third, we’re in a rental while we build, and I don’t want to waste money buying all this new stuff. Thank goodness for Walmart though!
I was able to decorate this area by the mudroom with stylish and great priced holiday items! Win, win! You might have seen this area before during the fall season!
I mean, did you really think I wasn’t going to buy some mini Christmas trees? Love these in the red striped metal bucket, and there’s even smaller ones that come in a set of three which would be perfect on the shelves or counter. Most of you know I like anything flocked, so I couldn’t pass these trees with the ceramic base!
I added a Santa milk and cookies plate and bottle to this area to set the mood. Maybe we don’t need a new one every year, but this Santa plate and bottle is so cute! You can also see this super soft blanket being used during the holiday movie night at Cecilia’s house.
I added the cement sign and the galvanized lantern and reindeer to this area to bring in the silver tones. I like to keep a space pretty neutral as you can tell. š
Having this area decorated makes Nick and I happy. It’s the one area in the rental that feels “homey” since the rest of the house is undecorated. How’s your holiday decorating going?!
