Garage Doors – Cambek designer Doors

Today I’m talking all about garage doors! As mentioned in the priority wishlist blog post, I really wanted the garage to be accessed from the front of the house. In our previous home, you had to drive around the back to get to the garage. It was pleasing to the eye since you couldn’t see the garage from the front and the house looked bigger than it was. It looked like there was more living space, but in reality, it was the garage. 😉 The downside to that was most people didn’t go to the front door since it was farther away and instead went to the garage entry door. I’ve had first-time visitors go through the garage…and all I’m thinking is do you like my dirty garage? ha!

Since we wanted the garage doors to be accessed from the front, I wanted the garage doors to be pretty and be one of the focal points when you see the front of the house. Here are some pretty garage doors I found scrolling through Pinterest and Instagram! At the end of this post, I’ll show you what we went with!

What truly caught my eye was this image below which was designed by Murphy & Co! How stunning are these garage doors by Cambek Designer Doors?! Nick and I kept on going back and forth on garage doors, but duh of course I won! 😉 I’m SO excited to be partnering with Cambek on our very own garage doors!

If you haven’t heard of Cambek, it’s a midwest company that does custom garage doors all around the country! They also do walkthrough doors, shutters, front entry doors, and garden gates. Just from viewing their work, you can tell they really care about the details, quality, and craftsmanship!

For our own house, we had the pleasure of working with Lauri from Cambek on the design of our garage doors. She reviewed my inspo images and looked through exterior images of the new build. Then Lauri created a quick sketch that pulled some details of our house like the orientation of the grills in our windows and the board and batten siding on portions of the house. Here’s her first sketch!

I fell in love with the design! Here is the final garage door, and there will be four of these in our home. What do you guys think??

I’m so excited to be working with a custom garage door company like Cambek. Cambek has been SO great to work with, and you just have to wait for the next blog post! The garage doors at the front of the house aren’t the only thing we’re working with them on. 😉 Stay tuned for future posts!
