Thank you Better Homes and Gardens at Walmart, one of my favorite brands, for sponsoring this post!
Today I wanted to share with you my favorite holiday memories. There’s something magical about watching your kids get SO excited on Christmas Eve for Santa arrive. On Christmas Eve, Santa calls our kids and talks to each of them on the phone. He asks them what presents they are most excited about, how school is going, and how Christmas Eve went. You can see it in their eyes that they can’t believe Santa is calling them…they still haven’t asked why he doesn’t call their cousins ;-).
Before bed, they set cookies, carrots, and a glass of milk by the fireplace for Santa and the reindeers. Then it’s time for bed wearing their new Christmas pajamas. They sleep under the Christmas tree which is usually in a room away from the living room. When they were younger, I would tape sheets of wrapping paper on the door to make sure I didn’t have any kid roaming around in the middle of the night…don’t want them to catch Santa!
As you know we are currently building, and I’m SOOO excited to make new holiday memories in the new house! We won’t be moving in until next week which is just in time to celebrate Christmas. I wanted to style the four seasons room for this blog post, and this is the first time ever styling the inside of the house. Gosh it feels good to decorate…I’ve missed it!
I styled this area of the fireplace (still needs to be white washed) with this adorable kid’s egg chair. You can see the normal-sized egg chair at Cecilia’s house when I decorated her outdoor space this past spring. This kid’s chair is meant for the outdoors, but you can definitely have it inside your living room, kid’s room, or toy room! I am obsessed with this doe faux fur throw because it’s big and so soft.
I used this acacia wood tray for the milk, cookies, and carrots.
This window seat area was so fun to style! I mean it’s all pillows, but isn’t it the cutest spot?! I’ve accumulated a lot of Better Homes and Gardens at Walmart pillows and thought this was the perfect spot for all of them. Here are links for the trellis, reversible striped, buffalo plaid, and oblong pillows. When it gets closer to Christmas, I plan on setting out some new Christmas pajamas on this bench for the kids.
I had similar floor pillows like these in the old house, but it went with the house when we sold it. I was a bit bummed because I loved the pattern of it, but now Better Homes and Gardens at Walmart came out with floor pillows in 4 different patterns! These white lanterns were a nice addition to this area!
Based on this blog post of my favorite holiday memories, if I could gift 2 items to someone, it would definitely be a blanket… the doe faux fur or the black and white buffalo plaid. Another item I would gift is the kid’s egg chair. It’s seriously the cutest thing and any kid would love this! Hope you enjoyed this blog post! I can’t wait to start decorating more rooms in the new house with Better Homes and Gardens at Walmart products! Stay tuned 😉
