In our previous house, we didn’t have a shower door in our master bathroom shower. It wasn’t our top priority when we were building that house, and it was also an area we skipped out on because…budget. We figured we would add it “later,” but of course that never happened. When we lived there, it wasn’t a major issue that we didn’t have a shower door, but it would have been nice to have one to keep the cold air out.

For the new house, Nick and I knew we wanted to have a glass door in our master shower and a glass enclosure in the pool room shower. We’re so happy to be working with Glass Doctor for these two areas! We’re using them for our home, but they also offer complete glass repair, replacement, and services to the automotive and commercial markets.
I worked with Matt at Glass Doctor, and I met him at the house. He took notes and measurements of those two spaces. We started off at the pool room bathroom, and the first thing he did was make sure things were level.

Then he started taking measurements of where the shower enclosure would go to make sure the shower enclosure is designed to fit securely in that space.

He repeated the process for the master shower…

For the master shower door and pool room shower enclosure, I went with polished nickel handle and clips since the faucets and shower heads in those rooms will be polished nickel. There are so many ways you can do shower enclosures, and here are ones that caught my eye:

As you can see, you can really get creative with it! Glass Doctor has a wide variety of shower door styles, frame options, glass patterns, and colors. For me, I love the classic look of frameless shower enclosures, so I went with frameless for those two areas. I love how clean and sleek it looks!
The measurements he made were used to design the glass enclosures, and I was so excited for install day! The first thing they did was make sure the glass fit perfectly in that space. Then he started putting the clips on the glass.

They put the glass back in the opening and made sure it was even before they started drilling through the tile.

They put the handles on the glass, and then the final step was cleaning it. That door was sparkly clean!

Now time to install the pool room enclosure! We have two pieces of glass for the pool room, so he started off with installing the glass wall.

Once he had the bracket screwed on the wall, he was able to connect the glass to it.

Once that was glass piece was secure, it was time to install the glass door.

You can see that he has a clamp holding the two glass pieces together while he screws the door onto the wall.

Then he put the handles on the door and cleaned the glass.

The last step was to caulk around the fixed glass.
