Preview | Pantry Progress

I’m sure you have already seen the pantry reveal, but if you haven’t, definitely go check it out! I only shared one side of the pantry because the rest of the appliances in the pantry still needs to get installed (nugget ice maker, built-in coffee maker, water dispenser). That will all happen this week, and I can’t wait! Also, the two floating shelves still has to get put up on the back wall.

I didn’t get to share the progress pictures in the pantry, so here it is! First, let me share with you the pantry tile that I fell in love with when I was at the Tile Shop in Des Moines (worked with Mike Peters)! This one is the blue memory porcelain tile, and isn’t it SO pretty?! I love the different blue patterns!

I brought the tile sample to the new house, and I put it against the cabinets and tried to visualize it in this space.

They couldn’t set the cabinets yet because the tile needed to get installed first. As you can see, we went with white cabinets from Waukee Cabinet Works…this isn’t a custom color. Jason showed me a couple white cabinet color samples, and I pretty much picked the whitest one (no yellow tone).

Tile arrived!

When we received the tile, I set a few in the pantry just to see what it would look like. I was excited okay? 😉

Here’s a farther away shot! More details on the kitchen blue and whitewashed cabinets on this blog post.

The start of the pantry tile install!

Here you can see the cabinets installed!

This is the 3rd house we’ve built, so eventually I realized no more open shelving! Those pretty pantries that have beautiful containers/baskets on open shelving doesn’t last pretty for too long. 😉 I need to hide all my sh*t. HA! It’s crazy how much stuff you accumulate and keep in the pantry. There’s going to be two floating shelves between these two windows and that’s solely for styling. Everything else is getting put in drawers and cabinets.

Love all the storage drawers you have! Will you be putting an upright freezer in that space or?
