I was SO excited to be working with Justin from JMA Concepts for the 3D rendering of our living room in the new house! Yes, I have all the rooms designed, but there’s only so much you can visualize with a mood board and a bunch of pictures photoshopped together. That’s actually one of the things that I told Nick while building our new house…”If we ever build again, I want 3D renderings of the exterior and the interior of the house.”
Below is the floor plan of our living room. This is the room with the big Marvin multi-sliding doors from Moehl Millwork and gas fireplace. For this space, the one thing that I was worried about was the ceiling beams. I can visualize it in my head what the ceiling beams would look like, but then I worried whether it would look right in the space…is it too much for this area? How many beams should we do? On top of that, I knew we needed to have the ceiling beam discussion with our carpenters soon on what it would look like and how much material to order. That’s where Justin from JMA Concepts comes in!
I was so excited to be working with him for this space and finally see this room come to life…and not just through a mood board! To start the 3D renderings, Justin requested the floor plan/measurements of the space, current images of the room, selections already made, and inspiration images or sketches. Here was the first 3D rendering he sent me:
I’m not even kidding, my immediate response was, “I am blown away!” ha! I had him tweek some things, and then he added some furniture to the space:
Then I gave him more changes like lightening up the stone in the fireplace, lightening up the ceiling beams, and replacing the decor/furniture, and he came up with this:
We were getting close! Now for the final look! The furniture, stone, and decor won’t look exactly the same as what it will be in real life. The furniture won’t be as modern looking in my house, but this gives you the visual and vibe of what I’m going for in the living room! What do you guys think?! Seeing this 3d rendering of the living room gives me a peace of mind that I’m making the right design decisions!
Definitely check out Justin’s instagram page for more of his work! I love how realistic these renderings look! If you’re building or renovating and need help to “see” the space, I highly recommend hiring someone to do a 3D rendering for you! Now if only I can have him do the rest of the house! 😉
