Sharing our front porch fall decor
I see so many people decorating for fall on Instagram, and I wasn’t ready to get the pumpkins and fall decor out until this week! I wanted to focus on the front porch first. Maybe in the next week or so I’ll start working on the inside of the house, but for now give me all the mums and pumpkins for the outside! I love decorating my front porch for different holidays/seasons, and here are some images from previous years:
This is the first year of decorating the new house for fall, and I wanted to do an all white theme. You don’t even want to know how many stores I went to just to get white mums that were already bloomed. At least I only went to two stores to get white pumpkins. 😉 I got these Better Homes & Gardens planters from Walmart, and I decided to whitewash these using white chalk paint for my all white front porch theme. I do have to say that the terracotta resin planters come in a set of two and are a pretty light terracotta color. It’s not too orange which I love!
Now for the reveal! Here’s my front porch decorated for fall! I love how it turned out! I went very neutral for my front porch. Call it boring, but I love the warmth and cozy vibe it gives!
You’ll notice that there are four areas of pumpkins, lanterns, and planters/mums grouped together. I didn’t want it to be completely mirrored from one side to the other, so you’ll notice that the groupings are different in each area.
Front steps
A lot of people decorate around their front door, but don’t forget to decorate your front steps too!
I added lanterns to break out all the white planters, mums, and pumpkins. The lanterns are a light brown which isn’t so dominant and it also matches our deck boards.
Instead of candles, I added mini pumpkins in the lanterns!
I love lanterns that already have built-in candles in them, and all you have to do is add batteries!
Here’s the other grouping on the right side:
I love the look of ornamental cabbages with mums, so I had to include those for my front porch decor. Also, here’s a close up of the DIY whitewashed terracotta planter!
This round beige resin planter has to be my favorite! I love how it looks ceramic, but it’s not.
Front Door
Here’s a glimpse of that 22″ planter that I whitewashed! Looks like a white wicker planter.
Those terracotta planters come in a set of two, and in this view, you can see the big one on the right side and the 12″ one on the left side.
Pergola
I also wanted to share with you the outdoor lights I added to our pergola! Perfect for movie nights!
I hope you enjoyed this blog post and this motivates you to decorate your outdoor space for fall!

Your approach to front porch fall decor, focusing on an all-white theme with carefully selected white mums and pumpkins, creates a serene and inviting atmosphere. Incorporating lanterns among the white planters enhances the cozy ambiance, especially with the choice of light brown lanterns that complement the deck boards. Adding mini pumpkins inside the lanterns instead of candles is a creative twist, maintaining the fall theme while ensuring safety.
