Once a week, we’ll answer one of our fan’s questions that we receive via facebook or email, and here’s the first one!
What lenses do you use for weddings?
The lenses we use for weddings are
- 50mm 1.2
- 35mm 1.4
- 70-200 2.8 IS L
To make it easier, we’ll go through the whole wedding and tell you what type of lenses we use.
PRE-CEREMONY – The dress shot is always the 35mm, and the rest of the details (garter/jewelry/etc) is usually the 50mm. The getting ready shots is a combo of 35mm and 50mm.
CEREMONY – The groom’s reaction and close up pictures during the ceremony is the 70-200mm 2.8 IS L lens. The far away shot/from balcony is the 35mm lens. The processional shots is the 50mm lens.
BRIDE & GROOM – This is a combination of 35mm and 50mm.
WEDDING PARTY – Almost all the wedding party and family shots is the 35mm. Only a few of the shots we use the 50mm.
RECEPTION – The reception pictures is a combo of all three lenses, but it’s mostly the 35mm and 70-200mm being used.
