You guys! I can’t believe we’re able to use our swimming pool now! The time has finally come! The kids have been asking Nick all summer when the pool will be done, and last month I started asking along with them. We’re the annoying kids asking Nick, “Is it done yet?” 😉 If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that we’ve been building this house for over a year now. The pool got installed during the fall of last year, so we’ve just been waiting for the outdoor deck and pavers to be done. The only thing we’re waiting on is the sand to be put down around the pavers. This past weekend we decided to open up the pool without it! We couldn’t wait any longer. 🙂
I’ll go more into detail on the pool process on a different blog post, but here are some images of the beginning stages.
Yes, I was excited to start using the pool, but let’s be real I was more excited to get new pool furniture! I wanted this area to be a stylish outdoor entertaining space. For the outdoor chaises, I debated whether to get a wicker one with a cushion or an all-weather one with no cushion. I went with the all-weather chase with no cushion because last year when I was already thinking about pool furniture, a lot of you that have a pool suggested getting one without a cushion. Even though I love the look of cushioned chaises, some of you have mentioned that with cushions it’s more maintenance – you have to worry about the fabric fading, bringing it inside and outside, and it doesn’t dry fast.
With my coastal farmhouse style, I wanted to stick with white, blue, and neutral colors for the outdoor pool space. I love how the white chaise lounge chairs look with the gray pavers! (ignore that the pavers don’t have sand in them)
To continue the blue and white color scheme, I got these striped turkish beach towels. They come in 10 colors!
While I was at the garden center at Walmart, I came across this $25 gray bean bag ottoman. I got this to use as a table in between the lounge chairs. The kids can set their plates, snacks, toys, and sunscreen on there. There’s a matching bean bag chair if you’re interested in getting that!
I also got these striped bean bag chair loungers for extra seating because I know Cecilia’s family will be over a lot using the pool, and she has four kids. I might have to start charging her for pool admission. 😉
When we went to Magnolia Silos a few years ago, they had similar bean bag chairs like these on their big green space. If you want to get the same look as theirs, there’s a black and white striped version of this chair!
As you can see in each space, I added an outdoor wood lantern, ceramic lantern, and a faux floral vase for decor which you can also get at Walmart. The plate and glasses are also from there which you may remember from Cecilia’s outdoor dining! Check out the “shop this post” section below for all the outdoor pool products!

I’m so excited that we can finally use our pool! It’s been a long time coming and I’m grateful that we can enjoy it now. I know the kids have been asking Nick all summer when the pool will be done, and I’ve been asking right along with them. I’m glad we were able to open it up this past weekend without waiting for the sand to be put down around the pavers. Now we can enjoy swimming in our own backyard all summer long! This is most excited information.
