I was so excited when I found out I was having a girl. I was actually more excited to decorate the nursery than buy girl clothes which is what most moms get excited to do! As unexpected plans change in life for the best {*cough* having a 4th child} and having only 4 bedrooms in our house, the two middle boys {Hendrix and Lennon} now share a room. So all of that work we did for Lennon’s nursery NINE MONTHS AGO (click HERE for pics), we had to completely change to make into Mariah’s nursery. “Oh well, because I have so much time on my hands”….said no one ever! 😉
First up, I wanted to do a stencil as an accent wall. I got a great deal from Groopdealz and purchased it for $18! The stencil that I got is called “moroccan.” {If you want to look at other designs, you can purchase directly from the vendor Cute Stencils}
I have a love/hate/love relationship with stencils. I LOVE picking out the stencil, HATE actually painting on the stencil, and LOVE the final result. Thankfully, my husband did most of the stenciling!
Next up, was what to put on the wall above her crib. Niña had done a heart wall piece using a bunch of frames at her old house (click HERE for pics). I wanted something a little different so instead of using pictures to put in the frames from Ikea, I used raffeta that I got at Hobby Lobby that was the perfect color for her peach/coral colors I was going for (for having 3 boys, the color PINK truly was overwhelming for us}.
