I’m going to be honest, I had every intention of decorating one of the kids’ bedrooms in the new house for this blog post. The carpet hasn’t been delivered/installed yet, so I had to go a different route. Bummer! We should receive that at the end of September, so stay tuned for kids’ bedroom inspo then! Since I can’t decorate my own house, I decided to do something in one of Cecilia’s kids’ bedrooms. Mariah, her 6-year-old daughter, is a blooming artist, and she has a little space in her bedroom where an art space would be perfect.
I knew I wanted to put a kids’ table and chairs in that area, and there are so many cute ones on the Walmart website! I found THE cutest table and chairs, and the colors fit perfectly for her room. It also comes in other colors. The black or the green one I can see in Bashy’s bedroom!
Next, I wanted something to place all her craft stuff in, so I used this woven tray. Love how it adds texture to this space! Do you guys remember this from Johannah’s bedroom wall decor? Yup, it’s the same tray. 😉
I love everything from Drew Barrymore’s Flower Kids line, and they had these heart cups which I used to hold Mariah’s craft supplies.
I had a couple ideas for the wall, I either wanted to do a gallery wall with different prints, a big chalkboard, group of letter boards, or a mix. As you can see I went with a mix! I started off with this framed canvas as the base which matched Mariah’s room. Then I added these white letter boards which were less than $10 each. Thank goodness for Google where you can find cute kids quotes. 😉
The faux fur pillows are also from Walmart, and it comes in 6 different colors and 2 sizes! This one is the 22×22 Taupe pillows.
Don’t you think everything turned out soooo cute?? I was telling Cecilia that I should have decorated it first without Mariah seeing it, and then did a grand reveal. Her reaction would have been priceless! Next time!
Before she had this art space, she would sit on the ground or use her small little nightstand when she would draw or color. I’m pretty much the best.aunt.ever! Ha! Hope you enjoyed how this kids bedroom was decorated!
