Sharing how I styled some neutral fall decor in my house.
When you think of fall, you think of the typical fall colors. It looks good on other people’s houses, but something seems off when it’s in my own house. HA! That’s why I like to stick with neutral or soft colors for my fall decor. All the neutral colors and textures of the pillows from Walmart made this area so cozy. I mean, look at Gigi! I was taking pictures, and she decided to just lay on the floor pillow without me telling her. She’s my little model. 😉
I love white mums, but when I was at Walmart and saw this pretty color combo of mums, I just had to buy it! It was less than $12 for these mums. I like sticking with white, wood, or brass lanterns in my house, and I’ve used these wood lanterns in different areas of the house. I guess you can see it’s a favorite of mine. 😉
If you’re not ready to start decorating for fall or you don’t want to buy all new fall decor, I have a solution for you! First, start with a neutral base. Put together all your cream or white colored pillows and decor that you already have and then add some fall florals or hints of color. Mums are great to add that pop of color. You can even add some pumpkins to your neutral base. This will help you transition from summer to fall in a subtle way!
Now onto the pantry! I got rid of the soft pink accents that I had in the cubbies and replaced them with this wood and cane crate, olive colored candle, and dark green and purple plants from the garden center at Walmart. These changes doesn’t scream fall which I actually prefer!
Walmart has really stepped up their home decor online and in-store. They have GAP Home (obsessed with the blues and whites), Wow & Now section (trendy, fun items at great price points), and relaxed ranch decor (warm rustic decor). If you want to stick with the warm tones for fall, definitely check out the “relaxed ranch” page! Think of Southwestern patterns and prints!
Hope this helps you transition from summer to fall in a subtle way!
