Sharing a fall home tour along with simple DIY’s
How is it almost November?! October has been flying by, and I feel like I blinked and the month is almost over. This month has been busy with work and my kids’ sports and activities. It’s a lot when you have four kids! 😉 I didn’t think I’d have time to decorate for fall, but I made it happen! In today’s blog post I wanted to share some areas of my house decorated for the season. I also wanted to share some simple DIY’s…I’m not a DIY girl, so these are super simple. Ha!
BREAKFAST NOOK
Our breakfast nook bench got installed, and I finally decided on a table. I was so excited to add some fall touches to it! The first thing I did was add some Better Homes & Gardens pillows and that already made a big difference!
Instead of buying floral stems or a fall arrangement from the store, I have a simple DIY for you! Just go to your yard or the ditch and clip some tall grass (native wildflower, fescue, and foxtail). We live out in the country on 40 acres, so mine was just walking distance.
I placed it all in the vase, set it on the breakfast nook table, and DONE! I love the natural element and the colors of the fall arrangement. The best part is that it’s free! 😉
It’s taking me a while to put stuff on the walls because of all the shiplap. I don’t really want to nail something through the shiplap, so when I found this round light wood-toned mirror, I used command strips to hang it on the wall.
The fall/holiday season is for scented candles! This pumpkin & chai candle smells so good!
It’s so nice the breakfast nook is done! We can finally sit down as a family and have dinner/lunch.
S’mores Tray
Just because it’s getting cold outside doesn’t mean you stop making s’mores. I placed all the s’mores ingredients on a tray. If you have numerous kids making s’mores, it’s best to unwrap everything first and place them in a tray before you roast marshmallows. It’s less stress, less chaos, and you’re not spending all your time unwrapping and taking things out of packages. Don’t forget the blankets because you know someone’s going to complain they’re cold. 😉
Fabric Pumpkins
Here’s another super simple DIY for you! I went to Walmart and grabbed some precut Better Homes & Gardens fabric. I had some old faux pumpkins in the storage and decided to revamp those to match my light blue decor aesthetics.
The first thing I did was take out the stem…
Then I cut some fabric, flipped the pumpkin upside down onto the fabric, and started pulling the fabric up. I used a pin to hold the fabric in place on the bottom of the pumpkin. I’m sure you can also hot glue it down, but I couldn’t find my hot glue gun. 😉
I placed the pumpkins on the living room coffee table…
Front porch
Pantry
I like decorating this area in the pantry, and I kept it neutral for fall.
Four seasons room
I used mums to decorate inside too! It doesn’t have to be an outdoor plant.
Hope you enjoyed my fall home tour and those simple DIYs!
