pier1 imports // decorating 3 rooms for thanksgiving

Now that Halloween is over and we’ve survived the candy coma, we can now think about fall!  We love the fall season…the weather (sweatshirt season without a coat…YES!), fall colors, and fall traditions (pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving).

The first room we decorated is the dining room.  This is our favorite room to decorate because you can put so much detail into it and each detail just brings everything together to create the perfect fall setting.

Let’s start off with the dinnerware!  We fell in love with the leaves placemat, so that was our starting point.  Then we added the spice route pumpkin dinner plate and placed the plaid napkin and deer salad plate on top of it.  

We also included the fox salad plate to the tablescape in addition to the deer salad plate.

We always try to include trays in a tablescape.  A tray is a great way to add an accent piece where you can place your salt and pepper shaker, butter dish, other dinner necessities, and smaller décor pieces.

We chose this beautiful serving tray which can also be used as wall décor.  We then added this pumpkin candle holder.  This comes in two different sizes, and the smaller candle holder was used for our tray.

Another must have for us is adding pillows to the end chair in the dining room.  A pillow is a great way to add color to your dining space.  We went with this plush clay pillow which coordinates with the tablescape.

The next space we decorated for fall is my hidden pantry.  When you go into the hidden pantry, the first thing you see is my coffee station.  Just adding these 3 pieces already brings fall into the pantry.

The coffee station is also where I keep the necessities, candy and cookies. 😉 Of course our kids love this fox bowl and owl cookie jar.  Who doesn’t love candy and cookies?  Even better is that you can display it so beautifully!

I always change up my mugs for the season or holidays.  These are solid colored mugs, but just the color of the cup gets you in the fall mood!

Now to the last area in the house!  This seated area is in my foyer.  We love to decorate this space for the holidays.  Adding pillows goes a long way!  Just by changing the pillows, you’ve already changed up the whole look of the space.  We always double up the pillows by having one being decorative and the other being more simple/solid.  The plush pillows and pumpkin patch pillows went so well together and completed this foyer space.
